How to take care of glasses and lenses?

The usage of Ray-Ban® glasses.

Ray-Ban® glasses protection from sun complies with the standard EN1836:2015+A1:2007.

Information about the category and type of filter is found as the last two characters on the temple of the eyeglasses at the model location. The number specifies the filter category (see table below). The letter specifies the filter type (N=Normal, P=Polarity, F=Photochromatic). For photochromatic glasses (F) the number indicates the category of dark ambient use. In a bright environment, glasses are Category 1 lower.

In addition, the glasses of these sunglasses have high optical accuracy and shock resistance in accordance with US FDA Reg. 21CFR801. 410. However, they should not be treated as an impact-resistant screen. The luminaires are made of specially developed materials, which guarantee lightness, comfort and at the same time mechanical strength.

Cleaning and maintenance

To clean glasses water with mild soap can be used, however we recommend fluids specially dedicated for glass care HERE >>. Do not use solvents and alcohol, as well as dirty and rough cloths, the use of which may cause the filter to lose its properties. Only use original Ray-Ban® accessories and spare parts.

Maintenance

Store glasses in their original pouch or rigid case in a dry place at the temperature between -10'C +35'C.

Below are a few tips that will increase your vision comfort and extend the life of your lenses.

  • Keep your glasses clean

It is worth to often clean your lenses with special microfiber cloth. Nonetheless, if finger prints and smudges leave, you can wash your glasses in clean water with delicate soap. Later rinse well and dry with soft cloth. Avoid using harsh paper and fabrics (shirt, tie etc.) and do not use ammonia-based cleaners.

  • Always put the lenses down with the front of the lens upside down

Thanks to this you protect lenses from scratching.

  • Keep glasses in special case/box

The case will protect your glasses from impacts and dust. You should hold the glasses by the bridge over your nose when you put them in the case.

  •  Taking off glasses

Always take off glasses with both hands, to avoid their deformation.

  • Avoid contact with high temperatures

Lenses might be destroyed while exposed to high temperatures.Consistently, avoid leaving glasses near to the intense source of heat e.g. dashboard of the car.
