How do I store my glasses so I don't scratch my lenses?
Protection of glasses against scratches - protected by proper use and storage. When you put your glasses on a bedside table, for example, remember to place them folded down, with your temples pointing down and your lenses pointing up. You can also lay them with upright temples, but here too, you need to make sure that the glasses do not touch the ground or any other surface that might scratch them.
And how to store them properly? Here are a few rules on how to protect your glasses from scratches:
- Always keep your glasses in a hard case so that the frames are not broken or otherwise mechanically damaged,
The case should have microfibre padding, - Insert the glasses into the case opposite to the direction of opening (i. e. with the glasses down), holding the nosepad,
Always keep your glasses in a safe place, e. g. where they are not accessible to children or pets.
- never keep your glasses in your pocket without a case,
don't hang your glasses on the neckline of your clothes or your hair. This also applies to sunglasses, - never put your glasses down with lenses when they are not secured with a cloth,
- try not to expose your glasses to very low and very high temperatures.
