Do you know how long it takes to blink an eye or which of your body's muscles are most active?

Below we present a few curiosities related to our eyesight.


- The blink of an eye lasts about 3/10 of a second.
-  A human blinks 12 times a minute on average.

- Eyes are always ready for action. Our eyelids and muscles moving the eyeball need rest. The eye itself is the only part of the body that never rests.
- There are about 39 million blind people in the world and about 6 times more suffering from certain visual disorders.
- Human has about 150 eyelashes.
- Newborns don't cry. They make crying noises but tears start to flow only 4-13 weeks of age.
- Some people are born with two different colors of irises. We call it heterochromia.
- Even if no one in your family has had blue or green eyes in the last few generations, these recessive features may still occur in later generations.
- Of all the muscles, the muscles that control the eyes are the most active.
